The important questions, answered clearly.

Is this a loan?+

No. A StakeHome agreement is not a loan. There is no interest and no monthly payment. In exchange for cash today, you agree to give a buyer a set share of your home's value when the agreement ends.

Who owns my home?+

You do. You remain the homeowner and keep the rights and responsibilities that come with ownership. The agreement is recorded alongside your existing mortgage.

When does the buyer get paid?+

Your agreement ends when you sell, reach the end of your term, refinance in a way that requires settlement, or choose to buy the share back. The buyer receives their agreed share of your home's value then.

What does StakeHome charge?+

There is no fee to share your information or list your home. StakeHome's fee is disclosed before closing and is deducted from the funds you receive at close.
